If you're new to sourcing custom cosmetic bags and GWP accessories, the manufacturing process can feel opaque. How many do I have to order? How long does a sample take? When should I place the order to hit my campaign date?
After 29 years and thousands of campaigns, we've answered these questions more times than we can count. Here's the straightforward version.
Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): 500 Pieces
Our standard MOQ is 500 pieces per style. This is the minimum quantity that makes custom production economically viable — covering material sourcing, setup, printing plates and quality control.
What if I need fewer than 500?
We understand that new brands and pilot programs need to test the waters. For orders between 300–499 pieces, we can accommodate with a small setup fee (typically $50–$200) to cover the additional per-unit overhead. Below 300 pieces, the per-unit cost becomes prohibitive for both sides.
Our standard line: "We usually require 500 pcs for our production lines. However, to support your brand's pilot launch, we can accommodate 300 pcs with a slight premium and a standard setup fee to ensure our top-tier quality control."
MOQ by complexity
- Standard styles (PU, canvas, nylon): 500 pcs
- Complex construction (lay-flat, hanging organizers): 500 pcs
- Custom hardware / new molds: 500 pcs + mold fee (refunded at higher volumes)
- Turnkey kits (bag + accessories assembled): 500 pcs
Sampling: 3–7 Days
A physical sample is the most important step before mass production. It lets you verify materials, dimensions, construction and branding before committing to a full order.
Sampling timeline
- Existing material + existing mold: 3 working days
- New material or custom color: 5–7 days
- New mold / custom hardware: 7–10 days (mold takes 24–48 hours)
Sampling cost
- Existing molds: Free — you only pay express shipping (DHL/FedEx/UPS, typically $25–$40)
- Custom / new molds: $50–$200 sampling fee, fully refunded when you place the bulk order
Sample shipping
Samples ship via DHL, FedEx or UPS and arrive in 3–7 business days worldwide. We'll send tracking as soon as the sample ships.
Production Lead Time: 25–35 Days
Once the sample is approved and the deposit is received, standard production takes 25–35 days. This includes material procurement, cutting, sewing, printing, QC inspection and packing.
Factors that affect lead time
- Order quantity: 500 pcs = 25 days; 50,000 pcs = 35 days
- Material availability: Custom-dyed materials add 5–7 days
- Complexity: Turnkey assembly kits add 5–10 days
- Season: Q3–Q4 (holiday season) can add 5–7 days — plan ahead!
- Rush orders: 10–20 days possible with a rush fee (subject to capacity)
Planning Backward from Your Campaign Date
The most common mistake new buyers make is not leaving enough time. Here's how to plan backward from your in-store or ship-by date:
Sample Timeline (for a standard 5,000-pc order)
- Week 1–2: Discussion, spec finalization, quote confirmation
- Week 2–3: Sampling (3–7 days production + 3–7 days shipping)
- Week 3: Sample review & approval (build in 2–3 days for revisions)
- Week 3–8: Mass production (25–35 days)
- Week 8: Final QC, packing, booking shipment
- Week 8–10: Sea freight to US/EU (or 5–7 days by air)
- Week 10–11: Customs clearance & delivery to warehouse
Total: approximately 10–11 weeks from inquiry to warehouse. Start at least 3 months before your campaign date.
Payment Terms
- T/T bank transfer: 30% deposit to start production, 70% balance before shipment
- PayPal: Available for first-time / small orders — offers buyer protection
- Long-term clients: Negotiable terms based on order history
Shipping Options
- FOB: You handle freight from the port — most common for established importers
- CIF: We handle freight and insurance to your destination port
- DDP: We handle everything — delivered to your door, duties included
- DAP: Delivered to your door, duties unpaid
For first-time buyers, DDP is often the simplest option — you get an all-in landed cost with no surprises at customs.
